Through our open architecture recordkeeping services, we provide investment advisors, managers, plan sponsors and participants access to traditional and non-traditional investments.

Department-wide Responsibilities

The Finance & Human Resource team is responsible for the improvement of LRS by regularly measuring and reporting budgets, forecasts, and pertinent information for strategic decision-making including asset purchases, expansions, and staffing needs. Team members proactively handle labor law compliance, recordkeeping, hiring and training, compensation, relational assistance, cash needs, and help with handling specific performance issues.

Essential Duties and Responsiblities

  • Perform financial management duties including generating financial data, budgeting, compiling and submitting reports, analyzing industry trends and assessing the financial health of the company.
  • Oversee the operations and development of the company’s finance department including creating and reviewing policies, budgeting, recruiting, training and conducting regular assessments of financial procedures.
  • Drive a monthly business review (MBR) for leadership team, consisting of financial highlights, lowlights, and recommendations.
  • Perform recurring activities including recording and posting financial transactions, managing bank feeds, monitoring accounts receivable and payable.
  • Regularly summarize current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
  • Responsibility for the preparation of recurring account reconciliations, monitor and enforce compliance with tax, financial reporting standards, and assist with cash flow forecasting.
  • Contribute to weekly business review (WBR) process by consolidating data inputs, managing report accuracy, and creating new content for management utilization.
  • Lead process improvement project(s) to eliminate manual processes through automation and reporting.
  • Complete comprehensive analysis of actual results against key financial metrics and budget targets, and identify management insights related to trends, gaps, re-forecasts, and potential cost savings initiatives.
  • Guide and manage 1-2 internal team members and external/outsourced parties by coordinating activities, answering questions and problem solving.
  • Effectively perform these duties and responsibilities in a fully remote environment, coordinating with team members in 10+ locations.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure timely completion of strategic plans, annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and month-end close.
  • Assist with business and tax filings.
  • Maintain documentation of the company’s financial status and forecasts.

 

The employee may be asked to perform other additional services and duties as requested by the Chief Executive Officer.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance discipline.
  • 5+ years’ experience in accounting, financial analysis, forecasting/budget management.
  • Experience in the retirement plan industry is preferred.
  • Experience with month-end close process, payables, receivables, if preferred.
  • Ability to build scalable reports and dashboards for various audiences.
  • Experience with accounting software, such as QuickBooks.
  • Passion for results; able to deliver and drive full-cycle projects (start to finish) and results timely.
  • Highly organized, analytical, with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to solve moderate to complex problems; resourceful and takes initiative to seek internal and external resources when problem solving.
  • Excellent decision making, conflict management, organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have the ability to communicate professionally and effectively including strong oral, writing and listening skills. Must have the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Must be able to work independently as we are a fully remote company. This person may lead and manage a team of 1-2 additional team members as well as outsourced support.
